Candidate Profiles

KAFO Fund's principal mission is to help elect more Korean American Democrats to office at all levels. Learn more about the questionnaires that we use to vet candidates and meet the candidates that we have endorsed.

Candidate Questionnaire

The KAFO Fund team has developed a comprehensive questionnaire for Korean American Democratic candidates to explain their position on important policy issues that effect the American public as a whole, and the Korean American community specifically. These answers help the Executive Team and Board make decisions on endorsements.

Endorsed candidates are profiled on our website and promoted throughout our network. Endorsed candidates are eligible to receive fundraising support and other assistance.

2024 Endorsees

Dave Min

U.S. House of Representatives - California, 47th District

Dave Min is running to represent California's 47th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He currently represent Orange County’s 37th State Senate District.

Dave is running for Congress because, as a first-generation, Korean American, he want his kids to grow up in the same California that attracted his parents and so many immigrants like them to come plant roots here—where everyone has a fair shot at the American Dream, where we prioritize our environment and the education and safety of our children, and where we maintain the spirit of openness and innovation that makes America so special.

Before returning to the Golden State to work as a business law professor at UC Irvine School of Law, Dave served as an enforcement attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission, economic and financial policy advisor to Senator Chuck Schumer, and economic policy director at the Center for American Progress.

Andy Kim

U.S. Senate - New Jersey

Andy Kim is running to represent New Jersey in the U.S. Senate. He is currently a Congressman representing New Jersey's 3rd District.

Congressman Kim has dedicated his life to serving the country. He worked as a career public servant under both Democrats and Republicans, having served at USAID, the Pentagon, the State Department, the White House National Security Council, and in Afghanistan as an advisor to Generals Petraeus and Allen.

In the House of Representatives, Congressman Kim is working on an agenda to bring this country together and strengthen its national and economic security. He supports strong measures that boost our economy by investing in small businesses and innovation, creating fairness and opportunities for working families, and honoring America's promises to military families and veterans.

He is running for U.S. Senate to restore that sense of integrity and represent the people of New Jersey with the compassion and trust we all deserve. The corruption charges against Sen. Bob Menendez have shaken the trust of the people in our state and left New Jerseyans feeling more cynical than ever about our government.

New Jersey gave Congressma Kim's family the opportunity to achieve the American dream, but now, the chaos, dysfunction and extremism in politics makes him worry those same opportunities won’t be there for his kids. He worries that the community that gave him everything isn’t getting the support and representation it deserves.

That’s why he is stepping up and fighting for his family, for his neighbors, for the community that raised him, and for working families across New Jersey in their pursuit of the American Dream.
