KAFO Fund Stands in Solidarity with Black Lives Matter
Washington, D.C.--The KAFO Fund issued the following statement on the murder of George Floyd:

The senseless deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others have shone a light on our country’s centuries-old legacy of inequality and injustice towards people of color, and especially Black people. These tragedies force all Americans to confront the systemic racism embedded in our society and in our legal system.

We stand in solidarity with the Black community in calling for justice and urging leaders across all levels of government to adopt real solutions that combat the racism that is ingrained not only in our laws and regulations but also in our culture and attitudes.

We call upon those who feel sadness, anger, and frustration to channel their energy into actively demanding that the officers involved in the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery be held accountable and working to elect leaders who prioritize dismantling institutionalized racism and demilitarizing police.

The KAFO Fund supports progressive Korean American candidates at the local, state, and federal levels. We understand that those at the state and local level have the greatest power to change the practice of policing and the prosecution of dangerous officers going forward, and KAFO Fund is committed to importing candidates who share these values.
